Barefoot Contessa

Yeah, Ina Garten (aka the Barefoot Contessa) is my fave on the Food Network, but I know I would die from a heart attack by age 30 if I ate her food all the time… I have made some of her food myself, however, and it is damn good. Especially the desserts! She also lives in the Hamptons. #WIN #LIFEGOAL

Two of my favorite recipes:

1) Lemon Fusilli with Arugula. You REALLY have to like lemon to make this, because you can definitely taste the lemon. But I guess you could always skip the lemon, but then, there really wouldn’t be much taste. I made this for my parents last summer and they loved it.

2) Pear Clafouti

This is seriously one of the best desserts I’ve ever made. It’s like pancake batter, but a little bit sweeter, and yummy pears with a sugar dusting on top. NOM. It’s SUPER easy to make and is perf for summer since it’s so light. According to Ina, you can make it with other fruits too! But the pear is just so good, I haven’t been able to branch out… The recipe calls for Pear Brandy, but that’s difficult to find, so I just skip that, but if I had some Pear Brandy, I’m sure it would be even MORE delicious than it already is.

Link to the recipe! (Lauren, you had better try this sometime!)

Spring Break Souvenirs :)

So my little brother got back from France last night, and I was pleasantly surprised to find that he brought me back a couple of souvenirs! Of course, he had a little help from some girls on the trip and my high school french teacher, but that’s beside the point :)

I believe this bracelet was bought in Paris, I lovvee the color and it goes well with my nails right now!

He got me these flower earrings somewhere in the south of France, just some little village, so adorbs.

And finally, they visited a perfume factory, the one he got me is called “Marche aux fleurs” which is great because I love flowery perfumes, although this one is SUPER strong, but I feel so legit owning a bit of French perfume.

My parents went to Sedona, Arizona and then to the grand canyon. I love souvenirs from out west because a lot of them have hints of Native American, like turquoise.

Another bracelet, this one was bought from an old Native American women by the side of the road, on the way to the Grand Canyon I think. It came with a little description. The pattern is called “The Stair Case of Life” and said, “The different steps that a person takes in their journey thru life. Each step contains good and bad obstacles. By overcoming each obstacle, a lesson will be learned.”

My dad actually picked these out! They are sooo cute, they’re just a bit of turquoise with two feathers dangling. He’s always had a knack for picking me out earrings, I’m not really sure why :P These will go perfectly with the bracelet Kyle got me from France, seriously, my family must have been sharing brainwaves of break this year…

lmd-day

Since you’re always on me about not “really” being on Tumblr… I miss you greatly too! So here’s what we need to do when we get back!

1)Cuban Pork Nachos

2) Delicious Drinks :)

Yummy!

3) And a little Wes Anderson…

See you after break!!
